A Batesburg man has been charged in five burglaries at Lexington County residences.

Quindell Tyquan Dozier, 22, broke into homes in Batesburg, Gilbert and Leesville and stole guns, jewelry and electronics, according to arrest warrants. Dozier faces two counts of first degree burglary and three counts of second degree burglary in connection with break-ins that happened in September and October.

“This series of burglaries happened during daylight hours at houses a bit off the beaten path,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Detectives felt early in the investigation that one person was hitting these homes. We’re glad to have made an arrest in these cases and returned some of the property.”

Koon recommended documenting serial numbers for firearms and electronics.

“When someone has taken the time to note serial numbers and can share them with us, it’s very helpful as we work to track stolen items and get them back to the owner,” Koon said.

Dozier is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center. A judge has set his bond at $130,000.
