LEXINGTON, S.C. – A Lexington man is accused of fatally shooting a man early Saturday morning.

Dez’Mond Keon Miller, 25, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

“During their investigation, detectives determined that Miller entered a home in the 2000 block of Capitol View Drive and shot the victim while he was asleep,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “A witness in the home recognized Miller and called 911.”

The victim’s identity will be released by the Lexington County Coroner pending family notification.

“There were other witnesses in the home who are unharmed,” Koon said.

Miller turned himself into the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department headquarters Saturday afternoon. He is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
