LEXINGTON, S.C. –A former Lexington County deputy is accused of driving under the influence and, hit and run Tuesday night, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers arrested Terry Govan, 52, at his house after they said he went there following a crash near his subdivision’s entrance. No one was hurt in the collision.
Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon terminated Govan Tuesday night. Govan was hired as a deputy in 2001.
He was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center Tuesday night and released Wednesday after appearing before a magistrate judge.
