LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lexington County deputies have arrested a man accused of breaking into five cars and one house this week.

Ryan Chase Venable

Ryan Chase Venable, 24, is charged with five counts of breaking into a motor vehicle, one count of first-degree burglary, one count of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, according to arrest warrants.

“Based on evidence collected and reviewed by deputies, Venable stole some AirPods from a car on Smith’s Market Road Thursday,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “The ‘Find My AirPods’ feature led deputies to Venable’s house.”

Deputies secured a search warrant to go inside Venable’s home, according to Koon. They found and recovered guns, tools and other items reported stolen after break-ins around the neighborhood.

“We’re glad we were able to get these things back to their owners,” Koon said. “These were valuable items, ranging from a lawnmower and other power tools, to expensive electronics. We’re also glad the guns we recovered won’t be out there on the street.”

Venable was arrested at his home Thursday. He had pills in his possession which were not prescribed to him, which prompted the drug charge, according to Koon.

Venable is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center after a magistrate judge denied him bond.
