LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lexington County deputies have arrested one man and are searching for a second man in connection to a shooting at a West Columbia apartment complex Saturday.

Montel Hakim Reese-Green, 22, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

“Based on information detectives gathered at the scene, Reese-Green and another unidentified man shot someone multiple times in the lower body while they were in a Riverbend Apartments parking lot,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “The victim drove himself to a family member’s house and was eventually transported to a hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening.”

Deputies located Reese-Green walking in the apartment complex a short time after the shooting, according to Koon.

Investigators arrested Reese-Green without incident and transported him to the Lexington County Detention Center. He’s being there held after a magistrate judge denied him bond.

“We’re asking anyone with information about who was with Reese-Green Saturday night to share that with us,” Koon said. “Crimestoppers is always anonymous and it’s the best way to share that information with us. Call 888-274-6372 or use the Crimestoppers mobile app. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.”
