Two Lexington County men have been arrested in connection with an assortment of stolen goods recovered Tuesday from two pieces of property in the 800 block of Broad Street in Gilbert.

David Amick (top), 40, is charged with receiving stolen goods, possessing a weapon during a violent crime, trafficking meth and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Todd Brazell, 42, is charged with receiving stolen goods and possessing a stolen vehicle. Brazell is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center. Amick has been released after posting bail.

“Investigators recovered heavy-duty trucks, HVAC units, trailers, shipping containers and other heavy equipment worth more than $235,000,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Some of the property was reported stolen here in Lexington County while other items were stolen from Saluda County, as well as locations in Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida.”

Narcotics agents executed a search warrant at the location after a property crimes detective discovered marijuana and ice, according to Koon. Agents seized approximately a pound of marijuana, more than 270 grams of ice and multiple firearms they’ve determined belonged to Amick.

“We’re doing the legwork to get each piece of equipment back to its rightful owner,” Koon said. “In the meantime, our work on this case is ongoing and more charges are possible.”

Koon encouraged anyone with information about this case or other potential incidents involving Amick and Brazell to call Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
