Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon recently promoted six deputies and transferred another.

Kevin Baum, 30, has been promoted to master deputy in patrol. Baum, a resident of Columbia, previously served as a patrol deputy in the department’s west region, which is based near Gilbert. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in February 2015.

Anthony Creech, 34, has been promoted to investigations sergeant. Creech, a resident of Lexington, previously served as an investigator. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in August 2009.

Craig Finley, 35, has been promoted to criminal investigator. Finley, a resident of Leesville, previously served as a resident deputy in Gilbert. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in December 2013.

James Pratt, 37, has been promoted to criminal investigator. Pratt, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a school resource officer. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in July 2012.

Frank Ramunni, 28, has been promoted to criminal investigator. Ramunni, a resident of Lexington, previously served as deputy in the warrant division. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in August 2015.

Tyler Watford, 25, has been promoted to resident deputy in Swansea. Watford, a resident of Gaston, previously served as a deputy in the department’s south region, which is based near Pelion. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in November 2015.

Jeff Weed, 55, has been transferred to sergeant over Chapin. Weed, a resident of Columbia, previously served as a sergeant in the department’s north region, which is based near Irmo. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in November 1989.
