Deputies have arrested a 17-year-old from Chapin in connection to multiple cases of burglary and “peeping Tom” incidents.

Caleb Matthew Dawkins is charged with three counts of first degree burglary and four counts of voyeurism, according to arrest warrants.

“Based on the information investigators have compiled, these incidents happened in April and May at homes on Crystal Lake Drive and Amalfi Drive in Chapin,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “The suspect lives near the homes he was breaking and looking into.”

Dawkins broke into the homes to watch people who were sleeping or otherwise unaware of his presence, according to detectives. He was arrested near his home Thursday morning after a family member handed him over to a deputy.

He was released from the Lexington County Detention Center Friday after posting bail. GPS monitoring and house arrest were set as conditions of his bond, according to Koon.

“Detectives are still working on these cases,” Koon said. “If anyone has information about any potential incidents involving Dawkins, they should call Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.”

Koon said anonymous tips on these cases can also be shared with Crimestoppers in the following ways:
