A Swansea man is recovering in jail from a gunshot wound he suffered during a burglary in Pelion Tuesday morning.
Tommy Lee Hively, 34, was shot as he tried to break into a family member’s house in the 700 block of Fort Ridge Trail, according to deputies.
Hively was arrested and transferred to the Lexington County Detention Center after receiving treatment at a local hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the Pelion Police Department are investigating the burglary and the shooting incident. A burglary charge is pending against Hively.
